The MDIS Street Soccer 5-a-side Tournament

WHO can enroll?
The MDIS 5-a-side Street Soccer Tournament is open to all, both men and women.
WHERE to enroll?
MDIS UniCampus, 501 Stirling Road, Singapore 148951
WHEN to enroll?
The competition will be on 21 February 2009 (Sat) at 9.00 am.
All registration are to be submitted latest by 6 February 2009.
What to note?
• General Rules & Regulations
1 A team should comprise of seven players; five players including two reserves. All entry applications, together with the registration fee, must be submitted latest by 6 February 2009 (Fri). Entries will be accepted on a ‘first-come, first-served' basis. Participants are advised to submit their applications early to avoid disappointment. Proof of posting will not be considered as proof of receipt.
2 Only participants listed in the registration forms will be allowed to play in the tournament. Participants are not allowed to register in more than one team.
3 Any rough play or unsporting behaviour before, during and after the game will automatically be disqualified.
4 All participants are required to wear proper street soccer attire and shoes. MDIS shall not be held liable for any injury or loss suffered by participants during the tournament.
5 Play shall be conducted according to MDIS 5-a-side street soccer tournament rules. Referees' and committee's decisions are final.
6 Failure to observe the Rules and Regulations will result in disqualification and no refund will be given.
7 In the event that there are insufficient entries, the organising committee may decide to cancel the event.
8 Any matters arising that are not covered in these Rules and Regulations shall be decided by the committee. All decisions made shall be final, subject only to a written appeal made to the committee within 24 hours from when the decision was made.
• Tournament Format
1 Participants are to check their own fixtures from the competition notice board and report to the competition venue 10mins before their game. Failure to report will result in an immediate walkover.
• Game Rules & Regulations
1 Captains must report 10 minutes before the match starts.
2 If the full team is not present (less than 4 players at the court), 1 minute grace is allowed. After which, a walk over is announced and the game is forfeited.
3 Game is played on a single knock-out system. Each match will commence of 10 minutes per game. No half time
4 In the event of a tie at the final whistle at any game, no extra time will be played. The winner will be decided by sudden death single kick from the penalty spot.
• Rules for the Goalkeeper
1 The goalkeeper must not leave the penalty area.
2 The goalkeeper must not hold the ball longer than necessary in his penalty area (‘playing for time')
3 The pass back rule applies. If a goalkeeper picks the ball up with his hands after receiving a pass back from a team mate, the other team is awarded a penalty
• Rules for Penalty Area
1 Outfield players must not enter the penalty area. This rule applies to both attacking and defending players.
2 If a player from the defending team enters the penalty area, the other team receives a penalty.
3 If a player from the attacking team enters the penalty area, the other team receives a free kick.
• Penalty Kicks
1 A penalty for the opposing team is given when:
* A player from the defending team enters the penalty area (Interfering with play),
* If the goalkeeper holds the ball longer than necessary in his penalty area (‘playing for time'),
* If the goalkeeper picks up the ball with his hands when he receives a back pass from a player on his own team.
• Scoring
1 Goals scored by players throwing the ball into the opponent's goal, without the ball touching another player are disallowed, resulting in a goal-kick for the opposing team.
2 Goals may only be scored from outside the penalty area, marked by a semi-circle in front of the goalmouth.

Complete the registration form and submit it to the organiser together with the registration fee, latest by
6 February 2009 (Fri);

1 S$20 for MDIS members
2 S$30 for team with 50% or more non-MDIS members players
